A Christian should pray a minimum of 3 times a day. First thing in the morning before you do anything else, 4.00 o`clock / 1600 hrs in the afternoon and last thing at night before you go to bed. This is the recommended number of times any one who loves God should be able to contact Him to say Hi / Pray.

Continuously. It does not have to be out loud...you can pray silently in the middle of a group of people. God hears us.

PRAYING DAILY:
Depends on when God has you pray. Many times we can be on a plane, a bus, or even in a car. And all of a sudden we are thinking of a person and really pray for them. That is what God wants. Us to be spontaneous and ready to pray when he brings many things into our minds. God does not want a repetition over and over again. He wants spontaneous in the flow of the Holy Spirit. AMEN It's not just about us and our own needs. We must always be ready to serve others spiritually by praying for one another. We have to reach out past our own house own church and own life a lot. We must have that 'one on one' time with God in order to be able to hear his voice, to be refreshed and to serve and know his will. Spending time with him and in the Word gives us true Direction. Prayer is an ingredient we need in order to even know God. AMEN

God Bless you.

You should pray as much as you want to. There are no rules on how often or how infrequently one should pray.

We know that Adam and Eve walked with God in the cool of the evening daily so there's a starting point. Make it daily.

Perhaps the question should be put differently. How close would you like to be to God. Prayer is a great way for us to deepen our relationship with our Heavenly Father.

I can say with earnest that I pray everyday thoughout the day because I spend time just talking to the Lord and listening to what He says. I also try to schedule quiet time to follow the scripture "be still and know that I am Lord."

Yes we are called to pray for situations, people and events but God is such a loving God and because all He wants is to walk closely with us, I also like to talk to Him without a shopping list of things/answers I need in my life. I like to be in His presence, I like to hear Him speak to me. I like to be still and revel in the fact that I know He is Lord.

Part of my prayer time involves worship with music (CDs), part of my prayer time involves speaking/singing in tongues, part of my prayer time includes reading and thinking about scripture and writing down what the Holy Spirit reveals to me, part of my prayer time involves requests and most of my prayer time involves thanking the Lord for all that He has done and what was accomplished on the Cross.

I might do only one of these things in a single "quiet time" with the Lord but I try to be balanced and dynamic and that's why my prayer life isn't a chore or something I "should, ought or have" to do it's something I enjoy and look forward to.

God doesn't love you more because you pray more, and He doesn't love you less because you pray less. He loves you and His love is complete. It is you who will love God more, the more you spend time with Him.

The bible teaches us that we love Him because He first loved us. We could never out-love Him but we could all have richer, deeper and more dynamic relationships with Him if we spent more time with Him. Think about the people you love; you want to spend time with them and your relationship deepens because of this. Well it's the same with God, draw close to Him and He'll draw close to you as it says in James.

I love the fact that I can call on Him any time of the day or night because His Word says the Holy Spirit is with me as a helper and that He will never leave nor forsake me and so it makes perfect sense to talk to God throughout the day (and listen out for Him) too.

Let's get rid of "religion" and get into relationship with God.

The bible says, "pray without ceasing." Non stop, means we have to be in constant communion with God.

God has created you. He can provide himself whatever you want. So don't pray God for your welfare.
Pray for the people who are in trouble
Pray for the people who are in ignorance
Pray for the people who are in confusion
Pray for the people who are in temptations
Pray for the people who are in need of help
(All these above mentions things are due to the lack of faith in God)
When you are confident in your faith- you can see all these troubles of others.
If you are in trouble dont pray God just keep faith in him and think the reason behind the trouble.
If you are the reason yourself for the trouble, ready to accept the consequence, and if you are not the reson for your trouble then keep faith in God- and pray God for other people who are in trouble!
Dear Friend! How many times you do prayer is not important.
The purpose of your prayer is important!
If you pray God for fellow people's welfare-I swear soon your prayer will be answered and you will hear the voice of Jesus!

Hebrews 11:6
V6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.

Without faith it is impossible to please our Father. So if you don't have the faith in the first place, don't waste God's time and yours with your prayer. God will hear your prayer but don't expect Him to answer. Now don't get down on yourself if you feel your faith is not the greatest. We all don't have the faith of Abraham but if you believe what this verse says, you have faith. How do we diligently seek Him? We do that by studying His word, the Bible. Think of the Bible as our instruction manual for our life. We have questions? His word has the answers.

John 14:6
V6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.

This is step two in our quest for a better prayer life. You had better believe that Christ was the only begotten Son of God. Also you need to have faith in His works and believe that He is with our Father now in heaven. A good way to show God that you believe in Christ is to ask for things in His name. Will get to what we should be asking for a bit later.

Matthew 6:5-15

V5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

When you pray to God don't be like the hypocrites, which are play actors. They like to be seen praying to God in the church or out in the open, it makes them feel very 'religious'. Christianity is a reality not a religion. I'm not saying you should stop going to church. The prayer we are talking about here is a personal need that you are asking God for.
