close minded?
Why are Christians so often accused of being close minded or dogmatic?
What can we do to seem more approachable without compromising our beliefs?

close minded
I am a true believer in Jesus Christ, and believe the Bible as Gods word.Yet can understand why people who don't know Jesus may think that Christians are close minded.A generalization.Sometimes I believe that of other Christians. The reason is some people believe they have all the answers, yet when you ask them a question their answers are vague. There are many mysteries in life.

Answer
Yes! Christians dont know what is true Christianity. Since centuries people addicted to listen to the Church Fathers. But the true Christianity is different. It is nor a religion neither a-"ism". Christianity is a civilization! When people and chruch make it religion it appers really like a dogma. It is the time for Christians to see the real Christianity. But who guides them? Right now the existed system of Christianity is not really a system of Jesus Christ! You believe this? I make an assumption it is the system of Anti-Christ. Unfortunately people ignored the real Christ. If you know the real Christ-this world- even a single person become the follower of Jesus Christ. Judgemental and arrogant sometimes
I think many Christians believe they are God and can judge others, when they do not really know enough to judge someone else. In particular, Christians are often arrogant and scoff at things that they should perhaps think about and learn about before making a judgement upon. Christians often believe that because they are saved, they know everything and have God's authority to decide what's true about everything, and they base these decisions on personal prejudices and pride and shallow, oversimplistic thinking. It's easy to put others down when you don't know what they are suffering or what they have learned and experienced in their lives. I think if we seek to have the mind of Christ, we should humble ourselves rather than so quickly judge, and we should work hard at learning and understanding, instead of focusing so much on our own happiness and so easily dismissing anything we find that is outside of our comfortable, carefree lives.

Christianity is a relationship with God
Many times Christians get mixed up with religion verses relationship with God. Many go to Church and warm the pews, listen to the music and the sermon but do not relate to God. When we have a real relationship of salvation with the Father God through Jesus Christ, the Lord can transform us and love will radiate through us to others. Love and unity will be our aim. Religion confuses so many. Sorry to say but many who are leaders in Churches use their leadership to control people instead of being a Shepherd to guide them. The Bible says we have to work out our own salvation. So the Holy Spirit is the one who teaches us and controls our life, because we have a relationship with God. Who are we to judge anyone? Only God will be the judge. Judging comes from man's theologies and religion. We are to test the spirit to see if people are of God and that does not mean we judge them. We should love people sinner or saved. Love is what draws man to God. Relationship with God is totally different than saying you go to a Church to be good. Salvation comes from the Heart and love is God given. Love is our testimony and shows the fruits of God. Love you all. Rev.Cathryn Hughes
