There are different ways and places to meet people.It really does not matter even if you meet the person on the internet.The most important thing is if they are genuine born-again christians and have a godly lifestyle.Just because you cannot see the person physically does not mean a friendship cannot be built.Having the same mind as Christ should be the true connection.
There are people who met on the internet and they have a solid relationship.The foundation should always be Christ, and from there you build on it.Many relationships/marriages have broken down not because of where they met per se, but because they were not willing to work out their differences;they just quit or are no longer interested.True love never fails nor hurts.
Aside from this,one should be very careful on the internet 'cos they may be fraudsters who prey on the weak and on the lonely.Be careful that you are not desperate, so you are not taken for granted.Watch and pray.Be mindful of 'sweet talk'.It takes the guidance of the Holy Spirit to know what is real.
There is nothing wrong in meeting the right person on the internet-let it start out as friendship without putting your focus on relationship/marriage.Get to know each other first and see if the person can be a true friend.If nothing comes out of it, at least you know you have made a friend for life.
If you are a born-again christian do not be yoked (in relationship/marriage) with a non-believer but you can be friends as long as it is not intimate.
If a believer and in a relationship do not compromse your faith.Set boundaries which should not be crossed before marriage.Do not be deceived if the person puts pressure on you.He/she is not worth it.Do not be moved by physical appearance,test the heart and spirit behind the words being spoken.Never lose yourself nor your love for Christ for the sake of the relationship.
