Greetings in the name of our saviour and lord Jesus Christ!
India is a vast land of thousands of ethnic groups classified into tribes, castes and different communities. They represent a diversity of religions, languages and cultures. How did these different peoples and communities come into being? How are the social structures of India framed? These are relevant question. The study of the people and the social structures of India will greatly help us for effective communication of the gospel to our people of India. The origin and the development of the people of India is an important study for missionaries and evangelists. We must know our people before we try to work out strategies for effective communication of the Gospel to them. Indian society is multi- racial, multi- linguist, multicultural and multi-religious. It is one of the most complex societies in the world and therefore, it is important that we understand our society and our people well and only then we can work out the communication principles and methods relevant to them.
India has the largest number of people groups compare to other countries of the world. The Anthropological survey of India (ASI) has classified the people of India into 4635 people groups. And among these large numbers of people groups only 400 people groups are reached that means 10% of people of India have been reached with the Gospel, Education and Health still 90% people of India is unreached, so it is our responsibilities to reach to those unreached and to engaged to those unengaged people groups as they could get salvation and have the equal rights as we had. The strategic action plan has been taken to reached to those unreached and unengaged people groups. And empowers them to come up with the equal right as we have.
